Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Groomio ("Groomio," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using Groomio, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Groomio. Questions can be directed to [email protected].

Service Description

Groomio is a professional pet grooming and pet daycare point-of-sale and business management software platform with zero monthly fees. Groomio provides tools for appointment scheduling, client and pet record-keeping, payment processing facilitation, staff management, reporting, communications, and related features for pet grooming and daycare businesses.

Zero Monthly Fees

Groomio has zero monthly fees for pet grooming and daycare businesses as our core software offering. We do not charge licensing or subscription fees for use of the core Groomio platform. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features or plans in the future, and any such changes will be communicated clearly before they take effect.

Payment Processing and Dual Pricing

Groomio integrates with third-party payment processor North (EPX) to enable businesses to accept payments from their clients. Groomio itself is not a payment processor and does not process, hold, or transmit funds. Groomio operates on a dual pricing model:

  • The Groomio software has zero monthly fees for salon and daycare owners.
  • A card convenience fee is applied to client card payments at the point of sale.
  • This fee is disclosed to clients at checkout before payment is collected.
  • Cash payments carry no fees for anyone.

A business may instead choose to absorb card processing costs itself, depending on its configuration and applicable local regulations. Payment processing fees, terms, and settlement are governed by North's merchant agreement and policies, which are separate from these Terms. Groomio is not a party to, and is not responsible for, the payment processing agreement between a business and North/EPX. Card data is transmitted directly to North/EPX and is never stored by Groomio.

Accounts and Responsibilities

Business owners are responsible for maintaining accurate account information, managing staff access, and ensuring that client and pet information entered into Groomio is accurate and lawfully collected. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Groomio, including by attempting to access other businesses' data without authorization, interfering with the platform's operation, or using Groomio for any unlawful purpose.

SMS Communications

By using Groomio and providing a phone number to a grooming or daycare business, you consent to receive SMS text messages, including appointment reminders, booking confirmations, and two-way communications, sent through our SMS partner, Twilio. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or get help by replying HELP or contacting [email protected].

Data Handling

Groomio collects and processes business owner, staff, client, pet, appointment, and photo information solely to provide our software services. Groomio does not store sensitive payment card data; that information is handled directly by our payment partner, North/EPX. By using Groomio, you agree to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

Data Ownership

All client data, pet data, appointment records, photos, and other business data that you enter into or generate using Groomio remains your property as the salon or daycare owner. Groomio does not claim ownership over your business data, and you may export your data at any time, including your full client list, appointment history, and transaction records.

Cancellation

Groomio may be cancelled at any time with no fees, no penalties, and no notice required. Upon cancellation, you may export your business data as described above. We do not hold your data hostage and do not charge any fee to leave.

Intellectual Property

Groomio and its associated branding, software, and content are the property of Groomio and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Groomio platform.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Groomio is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure. In particular, for the Dual Pricing tier of Groomio, we make no warranty or guarantee regarding uptime, availability, or response time, and provide the Dual Pricing tier on a best-efforts basis.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groomio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Groomio after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
